How we handle warranty

Warranty Claims

All products sold by ASECT are sourced through authorised Australian distributors and carry full Australian manufacturer warranty. Warranty periods vary by product — check the individual product page for coverage details.

If something goes wrong with your product, we're here to make the process as straightforward as possible. Most issues can be resolved without returning the product at all.

How to make a claim

Contact us first

Email contact@asect.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos or video where relevant. Include your order number in the subject line.

We assess the fault

We'll review your claim and determine whether the fault is covered under warranty. For many issues we can resolve things remotely or arrange a direct replacement without needing the product returned.

Receive your Return Authorisation (if required)

If we need the product returned, we'll issue a Return Authorisation (RA) number and provide a prepaid shipping label. Do not return items without an RA number — they will not be accepted.

Repair, replacement or refund

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund at our discretion. This is typically resolved within 5 business days of receipt.

What is covered

  • Manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use
  • Dead on Arrival (DOA) products — contact us within 7 days of receipt
  • Products that fail within the manufacturer warranty period

What is not covered

  • Physical damage from drops, impacts or liquid ingress
  • Damage caused by incorrect installation or incompatible power supplies
  • Damage from power surges, lightning or electrical faults
  • Products modified or repaired by unauthorised parties
  • Normal wear and tear over the product's lifespan
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality

DOA — Dead on Arrival

If your product arrives not working or visibly damaged in transit, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund and cover all return shipping costs.

Extended warranty

UI Care extended warranty protection is available for most Ubiquiti products, extending coverage up to 5 years. This can be added at the time of purchase — look for the UI Care option on eligible product pages.

Our warranty policy is offered in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Under the ACL, products must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose and match their description. If a product has a major failure you are entitled to choose a replacement or refund. For minor failures we are entitled to repair the product first. For more information visit accc.gov.au.
