A wall-mounted WiFi 6E access point with a built-in 4-port switch, for high-density offices where running cable to every desk isn't practical.

Why this one

  • The 6 GHz radio band is largely interference-free in most offices, and the 4×4 MU-MIMO configuration on both 6 GHz and 5 GHz means up to 4.8 Gbps per band rather than clients queuing behind each other.
  • Ten spatial streams across three radios lets it handle 600+ clients without shedding performance — meaningful in a floor of open-plan desks where every AP is carrying dozens of devices simultaneously.
  • The built-in 4-port GbE switch means one cable in from the ceiling can serve a desk cluster: patch to the AP, then run short drops to nearby workstations without a separate switch at each bay.
  • The 2.5 GbE uplink matches the aggregate wireless throughput, so the Ethernet run back to your core switch doesn't become the bottleneck when the radio is running hard.

Good fit if you're blanketing an office floor with WiFi 6E and want to reduce switch port sprawl at the desk level, provided your upstream switch supplies PoE++ (802.3bt) — PoE+ powers the AP itself, but PoE output to a downstream device requires PoE++.

Worth considering something else if you're covering a warehouse, car park or outdoor area where wall-mount placement isn't available — the U6-ENTERPRISE handles similar density and mounts to a ceiling or pole without the in-wall form factor constraint.

What you'll also need

A PoE++ (802.3bt) capable switch such as a UniFi USW-ENT-24-POE or USW-ENT-48-POE, a UniFi controller (Cloud Gateway or self-hosted), and a Cat5e or better run to the mounting point; if you want to power a device from the AP's downstream PoE port, confirm your upstream switch supports PoE++ before ordering.
