- IPX6 weatherproofing with the included outdoor mount lets you put it on an external wall or pole without a separate enclosure — the -30 to 60°C operating range covers Australian summers and cold nights alike.
- The 5 GHz antenna delivers 10 dBi in directional mode, which is what makes 140 m² of rated coverage meaningful in an elongated space like a corridor, carport, or outdoor walkway.
- At 13W max draw, it runs on standard 802.3at PoE — no injector upgrade needed if your existing switch already powers other UniFi APs.
Good fit if you need to extend a UniFi network into a space where a ceiling mount isn't practical — a shed, undercover outdoor area, covered walkway, or narrow interior — and you have a PoE switch within cable reach.
Worth considering something else if you're covering a standard open-plan office or home interior where ceiling mounting is possible, as the U7-LR or U7-PRO deliver higher client counts and broader omnidirectional coverage from a single ceiling-mount point.
What you'll also need
A UniFi controller (any Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine running UniFi Network 10.1.85 or later), a PoE switch or injector, and outdoor-rated Cat5e or better if mounting externally — wall, pole, and table-stand mounts are included in the box.
