Why this one
- The 12MP camera and 157.8° diagonal field of view capture whoever is at the door clearly, so the two-way intercom conversation has a face to go with it — useful at unmanned entries where someone needs to visually verify before buzzing through.
- NFC, BLE 4.2, PIN, and UniFi Identity are all supported credential methods, meaning staff can use a card, phone, or code without you committing to a single access approach across the site.
- IP55 weatherproofing and a -30 to 45°C operating range let it mount at an external door or gate without a protective housing — the display shuts off in extremes but the reader keeps working.
- At 6W over standard PoE, it runs from the same switch infrastructure as your UniFi network gear, so no separate power run is needed to the mounting point.
Good fit if you're managing access at a door or entry point where you want a mix of credential types, remote visual verification, and two-way audio — all managed through UniFi Access on a controller you already run.
Worth considering something else if you just need a credential reader without intercom or display — the UA-G2 covers NFC and BLE access at the same price band but without the camera and touchscreen hardware you'd be paying for and not using.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Access controller (a Dream Machine Pro, UDM-SE, or UCG-MAX running the Access application), a PoE switch or injector, Cat5e or better to the mounting point, and a compatible door lock or electric strike — the wall and gang-box mount is included, with an optional angle mount or junction box sold separately. Available in white or black.
