Ubiquiti UA-G3 | UniFi Access Reader G3
A compact NFC and BLE access reader for doorways where you want tap-to-enter, Apple Wallet support, and outdoor durability without a bulky housing.
Why this one
- ECP 2.0 support means iPhone and Apple Watch users can present a credential directly from their Wallet — no physical card or fob needed at the door.
- BLE 4.1 alongside 13.56 MHz NFC covers a wide range of card standards including MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire, and FeliCa, so you're not locked into a single credential format.
- IP55 weatherproofing and a –30 to 45°C operating range mean it works on an exposed external doorframe without an additional enclosure.
- At 5W draw over PoE, it runs from the same switch port as the rest of your UniFi stack — no dedicated power supply or secondary cabling run required.
Good fit if you're adding credentialed entry to a door that already has Cat5e or better run to it, and you're managing access through UniFi Access — whether that's a small office, a warehouse entry, or an outdoor gate with PoE available.
Worth considering something else if you need two-way audio or a camera at the entry point — the UA-G3-INTERCOM handles that in a single unit — or if the door is interior-only and budget is tight, as the UA-G2 covers basic NFC access at a lower price point.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Access host (any Dream Machine Pro, UDM-SE, or a dedicated UA hub), a PoE switch or injector supplying 48V, Cat5e or better to the mounting point, and a compatible electric or magnetic lock wired to your access controller; a junction box (sold separately) if you're not mounting to a standard gang box.
