A vehicle gate access starter kit for sites that need visitor intercom, keycard entry, and optional licence plate unlock — managed through UniFi Access alongside the rest of your building's access control.
Why this one
- The Gate Hub controls a vehicle gate and a side pedestrian door simultaneously, with dry-contact relay outputs for the gate operator and a 12V powered output for a door lock — one controller handles both entry points.
- The included Intercom carries a 7" 1000-nit touchscreen and IP65 weatherproofing, so visitors can call through in direct sun or rain without a separate shelter over the unit.
- The two 2-wire PoE extenders let you run power and data to the Intercom over existing 2-wire cable runs where pulling Cat5e to the gate post isn't practical, which removes the most common cabling obstacle on gate retrofits.
- When paired with a compatible UniFi Protect AI camera, the hub supports Licence Plate Unlock — vehicles on an approved list open the gate automatically without a fob or intercom call.
Good fit if you're managing a property with a vehicle gate and a pedestrian entry point, already run UniFi Access for door control, and want intercom, card/NFC credentials, and optional licence plate recognition under one app.
Worth considering something else if you need access control for standard doors only rather than a gate operator — the UA-G3-SK covers that without the gate-specific hardware, and if you want licence plate unlock you'll also need a compatible UniFi Protect AI camera (such as the UVC-AI-LPR) which is not included in this kit.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Access controller (a Dream Machine or dedicated UAP running UniFi Access), a PoE++ capable switch or the included PoE++ adapter connected to a powered port, Cat5e or better to the Gate Hub, and — if you're enabling Licence Plate Unlock — a compatible UniFi Protect AI camera such as the UVC-AI-LPR pointed at the vehicle approach; the gate operator itself and any door lock hardware are site-supplied and connect via the hub's relay terminals.
