Ubiquiti UBB-XG | UniFi Building‑to‑Building Bridge XG
A 60 GHz point-to-point wireless bridge for connecting two buildings at up to 500 m with fibre-equivalent throughput, sold as a complete two-unit kit.
Why this one
- The 60 GHz main radio delivers up to 6 Gbps across the link — enough to back a 10G SFP+ uplink at each end rather than throttling it back to a GbE bottleneck.
- A built-in 5 GHz backup radio at 866 Mbps keeps the link alive if the 60 GHz path is temporarily obstructed, without any manual intervention.
- IPX6 weatherproofing and a stainless steel mount rated to 200 km/h wind loading means it stays up on an exposed rooftop or pole in conditions that matter.
- Managed through UniFi, so the bridge sits in the same dashboard as your switches and gateways rather than a separate NMS login.
Good fit if you're connecting two buildings across a car park, laneway or campus at up to 500 m and the destination switch or NVR already has a free 10G SFP+ port to receive the throughput.
Worth considering something else if the span is under 200 m and 10G throughput isn't a requirement — the UBB-XG-SINGLE (sold individually) suits a site that only needs one replacement unit, and the standard UBB suits shorter links where 1G throughput is enough.
What you'll also need
A PoE++ source at each end — either a PoE++ switch port or a compatible injector — plus outdoor-rated Cat6A to the mounting point; each unit also has a 10G SFP+ port, so you'll need SFP+ DAC cables or transceivers and a switch with 10G uplink capacity on both sides to make use of the full throughput.
