Why this one

Good fit if you're running 30 or so UniFi devices and up to 15 HD, 8 × 2K, or 5 × 4K cameras, and want routing, threat management, and NVR storage in one desktop unit.

Worth considering something else if your device count is heading well past 30, or you need rack-mount form factor and 10G uplinks — the UDM-PRO handles higher-density deployments and lives in a 1U rack slot.

A UniFi switch for your LAN (the UCG-MAX has no built-in switching beyond its own ports), UniFi access points or cameras managed under UniFi OS, and — if you're using the NVR function — a compatible NVMe SSD if you order the no-storage variant, plus the tray accessory; the 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB variants include both.
