A palm-sized, five-port gigabit switch for desks, media cabinets, and anywhere you need a few extra ports but no dedicated power outlet nearby.

Why this one

• It draws just 2.5W and accepts either 802.3af PoE or a 5V USB-C supply, so you can power it from an existing PoE switch port or a phone charger — no power point needed at the desk.
• Five gigabit ports in a 107 × 70 mm footprint means it adds switching capacity behind a monitor or inside an AV cabinet without claiming rack space or requiring cable management.
• Support for up to 1,000 VLANs means it's not just a dumb expander — you can segment traffic at the desk the same way you would with a rack switch, managed through UniFi Network.
• At 150g with a polycarbonate housing, it's light enough to mount under a desk or tuck behind a display; the mount is included in the box.

Good fit if you're running a UniFi network and need a managed, VLAN-capable port expander at a workstation, reception desk, or inside a media cabinet where a PoE drop or USB-C power is already present.

Worth considering something else if you need to power downstream PoE devices — the Flex Mini receives PoE but does not pass it on, so the USW-FLEX (also in our catalogue) suits that job instead.

What you'll also need

A UniFi controller (any Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine will do) for managed features and VLAN configuration; a PoE switch port or USB-C 5V 1A adapter for power — the adapter is not included with the single unit but is bundled in the USW-FLEX-MINI-3 and USW-FLEX-MINI-5 multi-packs if you're deploying several at once.
