A 2.4 GHz omnidirectional sector antenna for airMAX base stations that need 360° coverage across a wide service area from a single pole-mounted unit.

Why this one

  • 10 dBi gain with dual-linear polarisation supports 2x2 MIMO, which lets a paired Rocket radio use both spatial streams rather than treating this as a single-polarity antenna.
  • The 12° elevation beamwidth concentrates signal horizontally, reducing wasted energy above and below the coverage plane — useful on a tower or rooftop where clients are all at roughly the same elevation.
  • 4° built-in downtilt angles the pattern toward ground-level clients without mechanical adjustment, which matters when the antenna is mounted significantly higher than the devices it's serving.
  • Rated to survive 200 km/h winds with 62.3 N of wind loading at 160 km/h — the hardware spec for a permanent outdoor install where taking the antenna down in bad weather isn't practical.

Good fit if you're running an airMAX Rocket radio as a 2.4 GHz base station and need omnidirectional coverage across multiple client directions from one mounting point.

Worth considering something else if your coverage need is directional rather than omnidirectional — a NanoBeam or NanoStation in the same band will deliver more focused gain toward a single link for less outlay, and the AMO-2G13 is worth considering if you need the additional 3 dBi gain that the higher-gain model provides.

What you'll also need

A compatible airMAX Rocket radio (the universal pole mount, RocketM bracket, and weatherproof RF jumpers are included); a pole or mast at the mounting point rated for the wind load; and a PoE source for the Rocket itself.
