Why this one

• IP67 weatherproofing means the enclosure is fully dust-tight and rated for temporary immersion — it can be pole-mounted in exposed coastal or industrial sites without a separate housing.
• The 5 GHz path delivers 300+ Mbps throughput, which is enough headroom for backhaul links carrying multiple simultaneous video streams or busy office traffic.
• The N-Type connector lets you pair the radio body with a wide range of third-party directional antennas, so you can match gain and beam width to the specific path length and geometry.
• Passive PoE on 24V DC keeps the power run simple — one Cat5e cable to the mounting point carries both data and power, with no active PoE switch required at that end.

Good fit if you're building a fixed outdoor wireless link — building-to-building, tower-to-CPE, or similar — and need a rugged radio body you can dress with an antenna suited to the path rather than accepting a fixed built-in optic.

Worth considering something else if you need a self-contained unit with an integrated antenna for a straightforward point-to-point bridge, where the UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge (UBB) is purpose-built for that job and ships ready to mount.

What you'll also need

A compatible N-Type directional antenna sized to the link distance and frequency, a 24V passive PoE injector (not included — the POE-48-24WG is not suitable here; you'll need the 24V passive adapter), and outdoor-rated Cat5e or better to the mounting point; a second unit and matching antenna are required at the far end for any point-to-point link.
