Ubiquiti GBE | airMAX GigaBeam
A 60 GHz/5 GHz point-to-point bridge for sites that need gigabit-class wireless throughput between two buildings or structures.
Why this one
- Combining 60 GHz and 5 GHz radios in a single unit means the link can maintain connectivity across varying conditions, with 5 GHz available as a fallback when the 60 GHz path is affected.
- The 1+ Gbps throughput rating makes this suitable for backhaul runs where a standard wireless link would become a bottleneck — connecting a detached building to a main switch, for example.
- As an airMAX device it manages alongside other Ubiquiti wireless equipment through UISP, rather than requiring a separate management platform.
Good fit if you need a high-throughput wireless bridge between two fixed points — a warehouse and an office on the same site, or two buildings where trenching is not practical — and you have clear line of sight between them.
Worth considering something else if you need the link to pass through foliage, walls or other obstructions, since 60 GHz in particular requires unobstructed line of sight; a 5 GHz-only airMAX unit such as the NS-5AC would be more tolerant of marginal paths.
What you'll also need
A pair — one unit at each end — plus a PoE source at both mounting points, outdoor-rated Cat5e or better to each unit, and clear line of sight between the two locations. Available in two variants at the same price point; check the listing for the option that suits your installation.
