Ubiquiti NSM2 | airMAX NanoStation M2
$175.00
A 2.4 GHz outdoor CPE for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless links where licensed fibre or cable isn't practical.
Why this one
- The 2.4 GHz band travels further through foliage and building obstructions than 5 GHz, making it a practical choice for links where line-of-sight isn't clean.
- MIMO antenna design is built into the flat-panel housing, so there's no separate dish or antenna to align and mount — one unit handles both the radio and the antenna.
- Runs Ubiquiti's airMAX TDMA protocol, which reduces interference on congested bands by coordinating transmit timing between the access point and its clients.
- Rated for outdoor use and suitable for indoor deployment, so it covers fixed wireless installs in sheds, outbuildings, and warehouses as well as rooftop links.
Good fit if you're bridging two buildings or connecting a remote structure to your main network and the path has trees, uneven terrain, or other obstacles that make 5 GHz unreliable.
Worth considering something else if you have clear line-of-sight and need the highest throughput possible — the NSM5 operates on the less-congested 5 GHz band and suits clean outdoor links better.
What you'll also need
A second NSM2 (or a compatible airMAX access point) at the far end, a PoE injector or PoE switch port for each unit, and outdoor-rated Cat5e or better run to each mounting point.
