Ubiquiti PS-5AC | airMAX PrismStation 5AC
A 5 GHz airMAX AC base station radio for tower or rooftop installations where interference from nearby sectors needs to be actively suppressed.
Why this one
- airPrism technology uses multiple amplifiers to isolate each sector's signal, which means co-located radios on the same tower interfere with each other far less than with a standard sector setup.
- The integrated RF shielding blocks interference arriving from outside the intended sector arc, which is what keeps throughput consistent when neighbouring networks are active on the same frequencies.
- It covers 5150–5875 MHz across the full 5 GHz band, so you can place it on whatever channel is cleanest at the site without being locked to a sub-band.
- Rated to survive 200 km/h winds with only 31 N of wind load, which means the mounting hardware doesn't need to be engineered for extreme conditions on most Australian rooftop poles.
Good fit if you're building or expanding a fixed wireless access point or backhaul site where multiple sectors share the same mast and co-channel interference is already limiting performance.
Worth considering something else if you need an all-in-one unit with antenna included — the PS-5AC ships without an antenna and requires a compatible airMAX sector such as the AP-5AC-90-HD, so if you're deploying a single link rather than a multi-sector base station, a self-contained radio like the NS-5AC will get you there with less hardware to source.
What you'll also need
A compatible 5 GHz airMAX sector antenna (the AP-5AC-90-HD is the pairing Ubiquiti ships alongside this radio), a pole or mast at the installation site, and a 24V passive PoE source — the 24V 1A gigabit PoE adapter is included in the box, so no separate injector is required for a single unit.
