Why this one
- The 6 GHz radio is exclusive to WiFi 6E clients and carries up to 4.8 Gbps on a clean, uncongested band — meaning your newest laptops and phones aren't competing with every legacy device on the floor.
- 10 spatial streams across three radios let the AP handle 600+ concurrent clients before performance degrades, which is what makes it appropriate for a conference hall or busy open-plan rather than a small office.
- The 2.5 GbE uplink means the AP itself won't become the bottleneck when dozens of clients are transferring simultaneously — a standard GbE uplink would cap aggregate throughput well below what 10 streams can deliver.
- A 140 m² coverage area keeps single-AP deployments viable for mid-sized rooms, reducing the number of APs — and PoE+ ports — a fit-out requires.
Good fit if you're covering a high-density environment — open-plan office, training room, reception area, or hospitality venue — where client counts routinely exceed 50 and you have a PoE+ capable switch with 2.5 GbE support to feed it.
Worth considering something else if your client devices are mostly older and don't support WiFi 6 or 6E — the U6-PRO covers the same area on standard PoE and costs less, making it the better fit where the 6 GHz radio would go unused — or if you need outdoor coverage, where the U7-OUTDOOR is the right choice.
What you'll also need
A PoE+ switch with at least one 2.5 GbE port (the USW-ENT-8-POE or USW-ENT-24-POE both qualify), a UniFi controller running Network 6.0.45 or later — a UCG-ULTRA or UDM-PRO will handle this — and Cat5e or better to the ceiling mount point; the pro mount is included in the box.
