Why this one
- The integrated 8 dBi antenna on both bands — unusually high for a flat-panel AP — pushes usable signal to the edges of a 185 m² area rather than letting it fall off halfway across a warehouse floor.
- IPX6 weatherproofing means it mounts directly on an external wall or a 25–63.5 mm pole without an enclosure, and the UV-stabilised polycarbonate housing handles long-term sun exposure.
- The second GbE port passes power and data through to a downstream device — a camera, another AP, or a switch — so a single cable run to the mounting point serves two devices.
- 4 spatial streams across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with WiFi 6 MU-MIMO means the AP handles mixed-device environments, including older 2.4 GHz-only hardware, without dropping throughput for Wi-Fi 6 clients.
Good fit if you're covering a large open area — a warehouse, schoolyard, car park, or outdoor event space — where you need one AP to stretch to 185 m² and survive the elements without extra hardware.
Worth considering something else if the install is entirely indoors in a built environment with multiple rooms or floors, where a U6-PRO or U6-ENTERPRISE delivers higher peak throughput and a ceiling mount is easier to run cable to than an external wall or pole.
What you'll also need
A UniFi gateway or switch with a PoE port (802.3af/at), outdoor-rated Cat5e or Cat6 to the mounting point, and a UniFi Network controller (self-hosted or a gateway running the controller locally) — wall and pole mounts are included in the box.
