Ubiquiti U7-IW | UniFi U7 In‑Wall | WiFi 7 | 2.5 GbE | PoE
A wall-plate WiFi 7 access point with a built-in 2.5 GbE switch, designed for hotel rooms, serviced apartments, and similar spaces where one run of cable needs to serve both wireless and a wired device at the desk.
Why this one
- WiFi 7's 240 MHz channel bonding on 5 GHz reaches 4.3 Gbps aggregate throughput, which matters in dense hospitality environments where dozens of devices connect simultaneously per floor.
- The three 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports mean one cable into the room handles the AP uplink and still passes PoE out to a desk phone or other device — no separate switch or second cable run needed.
- At 115 m² rated coverage, a single unit handles a standard hotel room or suite and the corridor outside it, so you're not running a second AP for edge coverage.
- 4 spatial streams across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz keeps more than 200 clients manageable without degrading per-client throughput — relevant anywhere guests are all streaming or video calling at once.
Good fit if you're wiring a hotel, serviced apartment, or student accommodation floor where each room gets one Cat cable and you need both wireless coverage and a wired port at the desk without a separate switch.
Worth considering something else if you're fitting out an open-plan office or warehouse where you need ceiling-mounted coverage across a large contiguous area — the U7-PRO or U7-LR mount to the ceiling and throw a wider, less directional pattern suited to that layout.
What you'll also need
A PoE+ source (802.3at) at the switch end — standard PoE is enough to power the AP itself, but PoE output to a downstream device requires PoE+; a UniFi switch such as the USW-24-POE or USW-ENT-24-POE will cover both. You'll also need a UniFi Network controller (any Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine running UniFi Network 9.0.114 or later) to manage the deployment.
