Ubiquiti U7-OUTDOOR | UniFi U7 Outdoor | WiFi 7 | 2.5 GbE | PoE+
A WiFi 7 outdoor access point for courtyards, car parks and building exteriors where you need coverage beyond what an indoor AP can reach through glass and walls.
Why this one
- The integrated directional antenna — 12.5 dBi at 45° × 45° on 5 GHz — concentrates signal into the space you're covering rather than spilling it in all directions, which is why the spec sheet claims 465 m² from a single unit.
- WiFi 7 support with 240 MHz channel bonding on 5 GHz pushes aggregate throughput to 4.3 Gbps, so the bottleneck at a busy outdoor venue or sports facility stays at the internet connection, not the AP.
- IPX6 weatherproofing and a tested wind load of 74.6 N at 200 km/h means it stays operational in conditions that would damage an indoor AP pressed into service outside.
- The 2.5 GbE uplink matches the radio throughput ceiling — a gigabit port would become the constraint the moment WiFi 7 clients start connecting in numbers.
Good fit if you're extending a UniFi network onto a patio, loading dock, car park or open yard and need a single AP to handle a meaningful client count without a separate weatherproof enclosure.
Worth considering something else if you need full 360° coverage from a single pole-mounted unit — the directional antenna suits a defined coverage zone, and for a site perimeter or town-square deployment the omni antenna mode or a U6-MESH may serve the geometry better.
What you'll also need
A PoE+ switch or injector (802.3at — the AP draws up to 19 W, so a standard 802.3af port won't do), outdoor-rated Cat5e or better to the mounting point, and a UniFi Network controller running version 8.2.93 or later; wall and pole mounts are included in the box.
