Ubiquiti U7-PRO-MAX | UniFi U7 Pro Max | WiFi 7 | 2.5 GbE | PoE+
A ceiling-mount WiFi 7 access point for large open spaces — conference centres, warehouses, open-plan floors — where 500+ clients and tri-band density demand more than a standard AP can deliver.
Why this one
- Eight spatial streams across three bands (4×4 on 5 GHz, 2×2 on 6 GHz, 2×2 on 2.4 GHz) means the radio stack isn't the bottleneck when dozens of clients connect simultaneously.
- The 6 GHz band tops out at 5.8 Gbps on 320 MHz channels — spectrum that older devices don't touch, so WiFi 7 clients get a clear lane without competing against legacy hardware.
- A dedicated spectral scanning engine monitors interference continuously without pulling any radio offline, which is what lets it maintain stable performance in RF-congested environments rather than just claiming to.
- The 2.5 GbE uplink means the backhaul won't cap throughput even when the AP is running near its rated capacity; a standard Gigabit uplink would saturate well before the radios do.
Good fit if you're covering a large open-plan space with a high concentration of clients — think a busy conference floor, a warehouse with mobile scanners, or a venue — and your switch already supplies PoE+.
Worth considering something else if you're covering a smaller area or a typical office with moderate client counts, where the U7-PRO handles 300+ clients at a lower price point without the 6 GHz band going to waste.
What you'll also need
A PoE+ switch or injector (802.3at minimum; the AP draws up to 25W), Cat5e or better to the ceiling, and a UniFi Network controller running version 8.2.93 or later — a Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine handles this if you don't already have a controller in place.
