A ceiling-mount WiFi 7 access point for high-density spaces where wireless throughput is the bottleneck and the switch infrastructure can already deliver 10 GbE.

Why this one

  • The 10 GbE uplink means the AP itself won't cap aggregate throughput in a room full of WiFi 7 clients — a gigabit uplink would become the constraint well before the radios do.
  • 8 spatial streams across three bands (4×4 on 5 GHz, 2×2 each on 6 GHz and 2.4 GHz) lets the AP serve a wider mix of clients simultaneously without forcing faster devices to wait.
  • A dedicated spectral scanning radio monitors the RF environment without pulling any of the three serving radios offline, so interference is detected without touching client performance.
  • Rated for 500+ clients across 160 m², which suits conference centres, lecture theatres, or open-plan floors where a single AP has to carry a genuine crowd.

Good fit if you have a 10 GbE-capable switch already in place — or are installing one — and need an AP that won't become the throughput ceiling in a dense WiFi 7 deployment.

Worth considering something else if your switch only has 2.5 GbE PoE+ ports, the U7-PRO-XG suits that infrastructure better and shares the same three-band WiFi 7 design without requiring a 10 GbE port; for lighter-density spaces where the client count is modest, the U7-PRO is worth a look instead.

What you'll also need

A UniFi switch with at least one PoE++ (802.3bt) 10 GbE port — the USW-ENT-48-POE or USW-PRO-HD-24-POE are the realistic candidates — Cat6A cabling to the ceiling mount point, a UniFi gateway, and UniFi Network 9.0.114 or later; available in white (U7-PRO-XGS) or black (U7-PRO-XGS-B).
