A single-door access control starter kit for businesses adding UniFi-managed entry and exit to a door that warrants a display reader on the entry side.
Why this one
- The G2 Reader Pro on the entry side has a 4.7" touchscreen, built-in camera, and NFC — so staff can tap a keyfob, use a phone, or enter a PIN without a separate intercom or camera at the door.
- The Door Hub distributes PoE to up to four downstream devices from a single upstream PoE++ feed, which means you run one Cat5e cable to the hub rather than individual runs to each reader and lock.
- The hub stores up to 6,000 users locally, so the door continues to operate during a network outage rather than failing open or closed.
- Both readers carry IP55 weatherproofing and operate down to -30 °C, so they mount on an exterior wall without a housing if the door is sheltered from direct rain.
Good fit if you're adding managed access to a single door — an office entry, server room, or warehouse gate — and you already have a UniFi Dream Machine Pro or other compatible UniFi console running UniFi Access.
Worth considering something else if you don't need the touchscreen or camera on the entry reader — the UA-G2-SK covers the same single door with a standard G2 reader on both sides and sits in a lower price band, which may suit a storeroom or internal door where a display adds nothing.
What you'll also need
A UniFi console with UniFi Access support (such as the UDM-PRO), a PoE++ switch or injector to feed the Door Hub, Cat5e or better to the hub, and a door lock — the hub's relay outputs support both dry-contact and 12V powered locks, but no lock is included in this kit.
