Why this one
- Everything for one door arrives together — Door Hub, G2 Reader, and 10 access cards — so there's no risk of ordering mismatched components that don't integrate cleanly.
- The Door Hub takes a single PoE++ input and distributes power to up to four downstream devices at 30W per port, meaning the reader and any lock draw from one cable run back to your switch.
- The G2 Reader supports NFC and BLE 4.1, so staff can present a physical card or use a mobile credential — useful if you want to issue temporary access without printing cards.
- The reader is rated IP55 and operates from -30 to 45°C, so it mounts on an external door frame without needing a protective enclosure.
Good fit if you're running a UniFi Dream Machine Pro or compatible UniFi console and want to bring one door — a server room, warehouse entry, or front office — under managed access control without sourcing individual parts.
Worth considering something else if you need to control more than one door from the outset, in which case the UA-G3-SK or UA-G2-SK-PRO kits extend coverage, or if you don't yet have a UniFi Dream Machine Pro or compatible console — the Door Hub requires one to function.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-PRO) or compatible console running UniFi Access, a PoE++ capable switch or injector for the Door Hub, Cat5e or better to the hub and reader, and a door lock wired to the hub's relay output — the UA-LOCK-ELECTRIC is a compatible option sold separately.
