Good fit if you're running UniFi Access and need a reader at an entry point where visitors also need to interact — a reception door, a gate intercom, or any access point where visual verification and two-way audio matter alongside credential reading.
Worth considering something else if you're fitting internal doors where staff simply need to badge through — the UA-G3 covers that case without the screen and camera, and sits in a lower price band.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Access controller to manage credentials and door locks, a PoE switch or injector supplying 48 V DC, Cat 5e or better to the mounting point, and a door lock wired through your access controller — the reader authenticates but does not directly control the latch; available in white or black.
