An OSDP card reader for sites that already have wired access control infrastructure and want to bring it under UniFi Access management without re-cabling.
Why this one
- It connects via RS-485 OSDP v2 to the UniFi Retrofit Hub, so your existing low-voltage wiring stays in place — no cable runs, no chasing walls.
- IP55 weatherproofing and a -30 to 50°C operating range mean it mounts cleanly on an external door frame without a protective housing.
- NFC support covers ISO 14443A/B, 15693, and the full MIFARE family, so it reads the card stock most sites already carry rather than forcing a credential migration.
- Touch Pass via BLE 4.1 lets users present a mobile credential, which is useful on sites where lost physical cards are a recurring administration overhead.
Good fit if you have an existing wired access control system — Wiegand or RS-485 — and want UniFi Access management at the reader without replacing controllers, locks, or cable.
Worth considering something else if you're building a new door from scratch with no legacy wiring, where a native UniFi Access reader such as the UA-G3-FLEX pairs directly with a UniFi Access hub and avoids the need for a Retrofit Hub entirely.
