Ubiquiti UA-ULTRA | UniFi Access Ultra
A single-device access reader and hub for one-door entry control, suited to small sites or individual doors that don't justify a separate access hub.
Why this one
- The built-in hub means reader and controller arrive in one unit — you run a single Cat5e PoE+ cable to the door and the device manages the lock relay directly, without a separate UA-HUB on the network.
- The 12V/1A powered output relay drives a standard electric strike or magnetic lock directly from the device, so there's no separate lock power supply to wire in at the door frame.
- IP55 weatherproofing and a –30 to 40°C operating range let it mount on an external wall or undercover entry without a protective enclosure.
- NFC reads MIFARE DESFire, Classic, Ultralight and ISO 14443/15693 cards at up to 50mm, plus BLE for mobile credentials — covering the card standards most commercial sites already use.
Good fit if you're adding access control to one or two doors and want to keep the hardware count low — a single PoE+ drop per door is all the infrastructure you need, and it manages up to 3,000 users through UniFi Access.
Worth considering something else if you're controlling multiple doors from one location, where a dedicated reader paired with a UA-G3-SK or UA-G3-SK-PRO starter kit gives you a proper hub-and-reader architecture that scales without replacing hardware at each door.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Access controller (any Dream Machine running the Access application, or a Cloud Gateway with Access support), a PoE+ switch or injector, Cat5e or better to the mounting point, and a 12V electric strike or magnetic lock — wall-mount hardware is included, and a junction box is optional if you're mounting over a recessed box.
