A 2U rack-mount NVR for sites running more than a handful of 4K cameras and needing months of footage on hand, not days.

Why this one

• Seven 2.5/3.5" drive bays let you scale raw storage to match your retention target — Ubiquiti rates this at up to 60 days for 24 4K cameras or 70 HD cameras, which is well beyond what a single-bay recorder can offer.
• The 10G SFP+ uplink keeps the NVR from being the bottleneck when you're pulling simultaneous streams from dozens of cameras or doing bulk exports.
• UniFi Protect, Access and Connect all run on the same box, so a site with both cameras and door readers doesn't need a separate server for each application.
• USP-RPS DC input means you can add a redundant power supply to keep recording through a PSU failure — relevant anywhere footage has to be continuous.

Good fit if you're running 15 or more cameras, need 4K retention beyond a couple of weeks, or you're combining UniFi Protect with UniFi Access on a single rack-mounted appliance.

Worth considering something else if your camera count is under 15 and storage needs are modest — the UNVR (four drive bays, 1U) handles that without the rack space and cost of the Pro, and the UNVR-INSTANT suits smaller sites that don't need rack mounting at all.

What you'll also need

Hard drives are not included — you'll need up to seven 3.5" surveillance-rated HDDs or SSDs sized to your retention target, a PoE switch to power your cameras, and a 10G SFP+ DAC or fibre module if you're using the SFP+ uplink rather than the GbE port.
