Why this one

- At 12.5W it sits within standard PoE budgets, meaning a single Cat5e run to the ceiling delivers both power and data with no separate power supply or conduit.
- The quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor runs AI detection on the device itself, identifying people and vehicles without offloading that work to your NVR.
- The colour LCM display on the hub shows device status at a glance, which cuts down on app-switching during a multi-camera install when you're confirming each unit is live.
Good fit if you're covering an indoor space where a discreet ceiling mount matters and you want the flexibility to choose between a wide-angle or full 360° view from the same hub.
Worth considering something else if you need outdoor-rated coverage — the UVC-AI-DOME is IP66-rated and built for those conditions — or if you're working at short range indoors where a simpler fixed camera like the UVC-G6-TURRET would do the job without the modular complexity.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Protect NVR (UNVR or UNVR-PRO, or a Dream Machine with Protect), a PoE switch or injector, Cat5e or better to the ceiling mount point, and the appropriate lens module — the UVC-AI-THETA-HUB is available separately if you need additional hub units.
