A 4K dome camera for ceiling and wall mounting in high-traffic or exposed areas where vandal resistance and all-weather durability matter as much as image quality.
Why this one
- The 1/1.8" 8MP sensor pulls in significantly more light than smaller sensors in the G5 range, which is what makes the 30m IR night vision usable rather than nominal in dimly lit corridors or car parks.
- IK10 tamper resistance means the aluminium alloy housing survives a direct strike — relevant for retail environments, stairwells, and anywhere the camera is within arm's reach.
- IP66 weatherproofing lets it mount on an external soffit or under a covered entry without an additional housing, provided you run outdoor-rated cable to it.
- The on-camera AI engine classifies people and vehicles locally, so detection alerts don't depend on your NVR doing the heavy lifting.
Good fit if you're covering a retail floor, car park, reception area or building exterior where you need 4K detail, vandal resistance, and a discreet low-profile form factor that blends into a ceiling.
Worth considering something else if you're covering a long narrow run — a driveway or fence line beyond 30m — where a bullet camera's tighter field of view and forward-aimed IR will serve you better than the G6 Dome's wide 110° horizontal angle.

A UniFi Protect NVR — a UNVR, UNVR-PRO, or a compatible Dream Machine — plus a PoE switch or injector and outdoor-rated Cat5e or better to the mounting point; the ceiling and wall mount is included, and optional accessories such as the G6 Dome Flush Mount (UACC-G6-DOME-FM-W) and G6 Dome Wall Spacer (UACC-G6-DOME-WS-W or UACC-G6-DOME-WS-B) are sold separately.
