A 4K dome camera for outdoor and high-traffic indoor sites where vandal resistance, optical zoom, and 40m night vision all need to be in the same unit.
Why this one
- The 1/1.2" sensor is physically larger than the 1/1.8" sensors in the G6 Bullet and AI Dome, which is what pushes usable IR night vision out to 40m rather than 30m.
- 2.36x optical zoom shifts the field of view from 113.8° wide to 45.5° telephoto without degrading resolution — useful when you need to read a face or a plate from across a car park.
- IK10 tamper resistance means the housing withstands a direct impact, so it holds up in loading docks, stairwells, and anywhere a G6 Bullet's exposed optic would be a liability.
- The Multi-TOPS AI engine runs person and vehicle detection on the camera itself, reducing the processing load on your NVR regardless of how many cameras are on the system.
Good fit if you need 4K coverage at a site entrance, car park, or indoor common area where the camera may be within reach of people and where zoom flexibility or long-range night vision matters.
Worth considering something else if you're covering a fixed close-range point — a doorway or counter — where the UVC-G6-DOME suits the throw better and the zoom and IK10 rating add cost you won't use.
What you'll also need
A UniFi Protect NVR — the UNVR, UNVR-PRO, or a compatible Dream Machine — a PoE+ switch or injector (802.3at, as this camera draws up to 15W), and outdoor-rated Cat5e or better to the mounting point; ceiling and wall mounts are included, with flush mount and weather shield options sold separately.
